Brinkley Update

Well been a while since updating the blog here, been doing a few shows and Brinkley's results include the following:
.
Crystal Palace Open Dog Show
  • 1st Post Graduate.
  • Best of Breed.
  • 1st Any Variety Open.
  • 1st Any Variety Special Beginners.

South of England Gundog Open Show

  • 1st Graduate.
  • Reserve Best of Breed.

Out of the Show Ring and into the Fire.

As a bit of fun for Brinkley out of the show ring, we have started taking him to Agility. The main quote that comes to mind when thinking of how Brinkley is getting on is .....

'Taking to it like a duck to water'

His little face just lights up when he starts running round the course, his favourite bits of equipment are the Tunnel, the Bridge and the jumps, though the A-frame and Seesaw make him a little nervous. However we have only been going about 4 weeks and he has amazed both us and his teachers. Keep it up little man .....

New Results & CRUFTS Results !!

Well we have had some more good results for our little boy.... At Brinkley's 1st Championship show of the year, The Home Counties American Cocker Spaniel Club Champ Show, Brinkley got the following placings:
  • 1st Special Beginners.
  • 2nd Not Bred by Exhibitor.
  • 4th Post Graduate.

****** CRUFTS 2010 ******

Then the moment had come for our first Crufts !!! We were all very nervous and Brinkley was obviously a little overwhelmed by the atmosphere at Crufts. Add to this, the fact that we were entered in the largest class for the Breed at the show, with an entry of 18 dogs and we were quite ready to come home without a placing. However, Brinkley ran round the ring well and stacked beautifully as per usual, the only thing is he didnt have his tail up as high as it normally would be. Yet he still got placed 5th out of the large POST GRADUATE class and we were so pleased with him. The judge obviously liked him as he said to me when he placed us all, that 'if only he had had his tail up'... just what could we have come home with then !!

Still a fantastic result for our first American Cocker Spaniel and our Very first time showing at Crufts!!
.
Then this week we did the Horsham & District Open Show and Brinkley did well again, getting the following results for us:

  • 1st Post Graduate American Cocker.
  • BEST OF BREED.
  • 3rd Memorial Stakes.

Well done little man and a big thankyou to all the judges, especially to MR D CRISTOFOLI the judge at Crufts for seeing how special Brinkley really is despite some nerves.
